The first phase (1&2 Royal Exchange Buildings comprised the conversion and upgrading of a 20,000 sq ft 8 storey building opposite the Bank of England, to create 2 retail units at ground/lower ground floors with office accommodation above. The work involved the repair and cleaning of the external facades, replacement of the existing copper roof, design of new glazed copper screens to form shop fronts (whilst in keeping with the elevational treatment) and the sympathetic addition of disabled access. The second phase (3-5 Royal Exchange Buildings) comprises a further 20,000 sq ft of office accommodation above 2 no ground floor retail units, one occupied by a new Louis Voitton store, due for completion in September 2003.
