Queenscourt Hospice commissioned a refurbishment and renovation driven by the need for more modern and flexible patient facilities and an improved working environment for its members of staff. Managing the design and development process from inception to completion, One’s design for the hospice took inspiration from the nearby lake to shape a tranquil garden area overlooked by the wards and shared rooms and created a bright interior colour scheme inspired by an existing stained glass window. The final stage of work involved a redesign of the main reception and atrium, as well as modernisation of the day therapy and holistic therapy suite. The work was phased to keep the facility fully operational, minimising disruption to patients and their families.
