Adjusting Sotheby is a strange project to reinstate some ‘character’ to a house after a sterile and blunt conversion from the previous decade. Rather than restoring its historic features, or starting from scratch, we reworked what’s already there. At times accepting what has been done, at others steering it in a different direction. A catalogue of small adjustments economically and sustainably transforms the house, whilst balancing the different aesthetic sensibilities and environmental imperatives at play.
