The project is the ground and first floor rear extension, and internal refurbishment of a semi-detached house. The house was in need of upgrades and had an inefficient layout, not suitable for a contemporary lifestyle. To make the most of the large beautiful garden, full height sliding doors were introduced. The external terraced garden level was made flush with the interior floor level to create seamless connection. To play with light and shadow, angles were introduced to the geometry. The canopy on the ground floor mitigates solar gain and overheating in summer.
