O-RU procured, designed and managed the build of this period property in Tameside, Greater Manchester. The practice designed a deep retrofit of this dated property that was in a state of disrepair. A full interior design package was also completed, every detail was carefully considered and key aspects of the heritage building were maintained and restored. Furniture was sourced by O-RU too, from the dining table to the light fittings. The property underwent a comprehensive programme of works to increase it's energy efficiency which was reflected in the final EPC. Extensive modelling of the existing building was carried out to consider sun paths, heat loss and thermal bridging. The result is a considered, bold reinterpretation of the Victorian home that utilises the natural light and ensures the property is enjoyed for decades longer.
