New Build
A multi-award winning Urban Village for Grosvenor Developments London in association with The Royal Bank of Scotland and AMA to re-develop the former eight acre Scottish & Newcastle brewery and kegging site in Fountainbridge into one of Edinburgh’s most comprehensive and cohesive regeneration projects of recent times. Oberlanders undertook overall site master-planning and full design services through to completion on site of the East End of the development. The project will ultimately establish a new neighbourhood of 650 new homes, offices and retail space, stitching together existing streets with striking new urban spaces and public parks, connecting established South Edinburgh neighbourhoods with the transport hub of Haymarket and the West End. The East End of the development including the iconic Inglis Point, Jex Blake House and The Foundry, delivering approximately 250 homes with associated underground car parking, was completed, by Oberlanders, in phases. The project has won numerous awards and is noted as an exemplar design solution for contemporary high density urban and place making design by the City of Edinburgh Council, featuring prominently in the Council’s current Design Guides.
