South Cambridgeshire
£5m to £9.99M
Brownfield site
NP Architects were appointed to undertake the detailed design on this site following a previous Outline Planning Consent from South Cambridgeshire District Council. The site was previously occupied by two bungalows situated within a mature landscape setting surrounded by large trees and a walled garden within which the new houses will inhabit. A high flint wall on the site frontage screens the site from the busy London Road. The proposed scheme explores the use of traditional pitched roofed forms and materials such as flint, brickwork and plain tiles which are combined with contemporary window openings to maximise natural light. The exterior of the scheme is intended to have a strong texture and materiality which will relate well to the village context. The interior of the house combines spaces on the ground floor to create attractive semi- open-plan layouts.
