About the practice

Novak Hiles Architects is based in London, UK and was founded in late 2017 by Carla Novak and Adam Hiles. The practice invests great energy and passion in delivering projects that are beautifully conceived and finely executed. Novak Hiles Architects employs a rigorous and imaginative design process to draw out creative opportunities for challenging sites, a process that we find hugely rewarding. We seek to understand and respond to the specific characteristics and opportunities of each project site and brief to develop architecture that is both exceptional and deliverable. We strongly believe in architecture that is simultaneously practical, contextually aware and infused with character and delight. We think colour and texture are hugely important. We put ourselves in the mindset of the occupants of our buildings/landscapes and firmly believe in architecture that is socially conscious as well as experientially rich. The practice is currently working on a range of ambitious housing, workspace and retail projects for exciting clients who share our passion for design and with whom we have developed close working relationships thanks to our dedication, attention to detail and discursive approach. In a short period, the practice has established itself as an exciting upcoming talent. In 2019 Novak Hiles Architects was shortlisted for a New London Architecture (NLA) Design award for its ‘Villa Volta’ project.
