The NEFRA project consists of four community response fire stations together with a combined community fire stations and brigade headquarters building. The buildings respond to latest government thinking with the fire and rescue service demands for prevention and education. Community facilities are an integral part of the individual buildings and provide on stand of the community focus. Procurement was through the continued dialogue PFI process. The total PFI value is ?60million with a construction capex of ?27million The NEFRA Collaborative PFI Project brings together three neighbouring authorities (Northumberland, Tyne and Wear and Durham) and is based on the requirements of the three Fire and Rescue Authorities objectives in terms of:- i) Fire and Rescue National Framework 2008-2011 ii) Corporate and Project Objectives iii) Government?s wider agenda for social inclusion
