Wemyss House is a traditional home and bed and breakfast set in rural Inverness, overlooking the Highland landscape. MWE Architects designed a porch extension that creates a striking new entrance and additional living space capturing views of the Cromarty Firth. The form is simple, but the deep front overhang provides a welcoming approach and features a distinctive structural arrangement, with timber posts set in a ‘V’ formation and internal glulam purlins. Together, these elements give the building a character of its own within the surrounding landscape.
