Extensive works to a large private residential estate, the project was completed in three phases. Works included the full refurbishment and extension of the mill, conversion of associated stables and garage outbuilding incorporating guest accommodation and the full demolition and replacement of the estate’s River Keeper’s cottage. Conservative repair of the walled garden and construction of new river bridge are two central elements of a comprehensive landscaping scheme. With self-sufficiency at the forefront, water is derived through an on-site bore hole with electricity generated through the integration of a hydroelectric water wheel.
