St Stephen's Place is a brownfield development site that occupies a prominent riverside position within the town centre. Mountford Pigott has been appointed to design the redevelopment scheme for both the planning and construction phases. The £12m scheme comprises a high quality seven-screen cinema, an 80-bedroom hotel and seven family restaurant units. The development includes extensive landscaping to enhance the public realm and link the scheme through to the town centre and incorporates the creation of a new riverside walkway. Anchor tenants already in place include Odeon and Premier Inn. Development has started on site, and is scheduled to complete towards the end of 2013.
