This hotel enjoys a prime position in an extremely popular city centre location, just a few minutes from Liverpool Street station. The extension has provided an additional 70 contemporary bedrooms and suites for this existing hotel, and includes the upgrade of the rooftop bar and new restaurant facilities. Mountford Pigott acted as the design team leader, a role which included full design coordination, monitoring and coordinating all consultants' construction information. We were also involved with the interior design, developing various concepts for the bedrooms and bathroom facilities. The development programme which required complex Party Wall and Rights of Light agreements; included the demolition of existing buildings on the site, the excavation of a single level basement to house a new kitchen, storage and staff areas and the construction of 5 upper floors containing the new rooms.
