MOST extended and remodelled a Victorian family home in a Lewisham conservation area, creating a generous kitchen, dining and living space within a constrained plot. A distinctive glazed prow opens the extension to the garden, while conical rooflights bring daylight deep into the plan. A bespoke island with a central tree gives the kitchen its focal point. The design balances family life, neighbouring daylight, conservation requirements and budget, combining contemporary additions with the character of the original house.
