Belmont School is set within a 65-acre site that forms part of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is centred around the listed Feldemore House. To accommodate the school’s increasing demand and student intake we were commissioned to review and masterplan additional teaching facilities for pupils aged up to and including GCSE level. New teaching spaces are needed to replace outdated buildings and provide modern facilities, within a scheme that is designed to respond to site conditions and open-up views of the listed building. This very contemporary design uses traditional materials that are represented through the surrounding buildings and natural environment.
