Modus Architects were selected from a field of five architecture firms invited by Manx National Heritage to bid to design and implement a scheme for a new entry building and visitor centre at the site of the Great Laxey Wheel, part of the Great Laxey Mine complex extending along the Laxey River Valley. The programme consisted of the provision of a central entry and orientation space, retail space, educational facilities, washrooms, cafe and staff welfare facilities, with interpretive displays integrated throughout the facility. Jeremy led the bid delivered the pitch to the client Project Board, and subsequently developed the scheme through the concept design phase.
