Securing a long-term future for Rosebank Distillery, this restoration has saved a landmark building and ensured a new era for whisky production in Falkirk. Preservation and re-use were prioritised, with historical buildings including the iconic 108ft chimney and ‘scheduled ancient monument’ the lock-keeper’s cottage, restored and retained. Care was taken to re-use timber, bricks and slate from parts of the distillery that unfortunately could not be saved. And by blending old and new, including the addition of a striking glass-fronted still room, the distillery has been ‘reimagined’ for the 21st century.
