This 1930’s suburban London house has been brought up to date with a dramatic ground floor extension and master-bedroom suite on the top floor. It was a big challenge to achieve an open-plan ground floor whilst maintaining the necessary fire separation for the stair, but we found the solution with a super-sized glass sliding pocket door. The extension is flooded with light from the bi-fold patio doors and roof lights. The open plan kitchen/dining/living area seamlessly flows through into the garden for entertaining and family living.
