The Horsley 3 in 1 Project is an innovative regeneration scheme, with the aim to provide an adaptable and inspiring space to cater for an enterprising village community. The re-modelled village church is set at the heart of the villages cultural and social life, and is shared between the local primary school and community as well as the worshipping congregation. The conversion involved adding toilets, a kitchen, disabled access, a new heating system, a new raised floor incorporating under floor heating, increased storage, a new lighting and audio visual systems and generally make the space more flexible for a wide range of uses. The result has been that the church building has been re-invigorated as the heart of this busy village community, with the children feeling very much ‘at home’ there, but with the space still maintained as a place for worship.
