This house was designed to have minimal impact on the 27 surrounding protected trees and to preserve the natural habitat of the site. Featured on Grand Designs in September 2016, the Treehouse garnered much interest for its beautiful cantilevered structure, its low environmental impact and for the romanticism of living in a ‘treehouse’. This designed gained planning permission where two others had been refused. The trees were considered, right from conception stage in 3D in order to accommodate all the branches and predicted growth. The house also boasts a lightweight veranda that circulates around the home and projects into the tree canopy: an unusual treehouse escape hidden in the middle of a bustling town.
