A unique woodland retreat, nestled amongst the trees and hidden away within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The lodge sits discreetly within a natural clearing in the trees, part-elevated against an existing embankment deep within the established woodland. The large picture windows to the front and rear elevations allow users to fully immerse themselves in the woodland setting, with self-tinting electrochromic glass granting privacy as dusk falls. A single species of timber was used for both the external cladding and internal lining; left unfinished, the exterior will be allowed to weather naturally to a silver-grey colour, in contrast to the lighter and softer interior. No trees were felled to facilitate the construction of the lodge, whilst the elevated position affords continued and unobstructed access for wildlife crossing the site at ground level.
