Fairfield Halls sits at the heart of the proposed ‘Croydon Cultural Quarter’ which includes a new public square, new residential accommodation and improved connections to East Croydon station and the wider town. The proposals rescue the celebrated, but declining, Fairfield Halls with much-needed refurbished and new accommodation benefiting both front of house and back of house facilities, creating reinvigorated cultural and commercial offer while respecting the significant architectural heritage of the building. The wider scheme sees the re-planning of College Green to provide a new amenity space and contemporary gallery for central Croydon.
