Mibe Architects were appointed to design and develop a contemporary style, replacement dwelling located on a greenbelt site in Langdon Hills, Essex. The proposal achieved planning consent for a dwelling 560% larger than the existing, meaning only very special circumstances would overcome it being determined unacceptable development within the greenbelt. Mibe Architects achieved this by careful design and material consideration that allowed the proposal to nestle itself into the site, and although being larger, having “a lesser visual impact upon the landscape than the existing” Planning Officer Report.
