In 2007 MEB Design won a design competition ran by the school for a new Science Centre. The proposal was a centre which brought together the 3 sciences; Biology, Chemistry and Physics under one roof. This consists of 10 Labs, 3 prep rooms, 2 staff rooms and 3 general classrooms. The winning concept was that the centre would be a learning resource itself. To make this a reality the centre has two green roofs; Wildflower and Sedum which are accessible from a second floor greenhouse. This also gives access to banks of photovoltaic panels, whose real-time power generation is displayed in the lobby area along with other environmental information on the building, including camera feeds to the bat loft in the roof void. The Centre also makes use of a Biomass Boiler, grey water recycling and natural ventilation. The centre was opened in September 2010 and achieved a BREEAM "Excellent" rating.
