Grade 1 Listed, St Mary’s church was built in the 12th Century, though much of the visible fabric dates from the 15th century. Our involvement dates from 2006, and includes the removal of the pews, and inclusion of underfloor heating in the renewed stone floor. The church now offers contemporary levels of comfort and flexibility, appropriate to modern expectations, and contributing to the creation of a new community facility. Lighting renewal and redecoration have transformed the appearance of the church interior. Reinstatement of the floor was complicated by the discovery of 13 vaults (most of which were not previously recorded).
