Alteration to existing property, Listed Building - Grade II, Within a Conservation Area

Built in 1880, this double-fronted Victorian townhouse in Falmouth had a striking façade but was in poor condition at the rear due to decades of neglect and a dated conversion. Our brief was to blend modern living with period charm, restoring the home’s elegance while working within listed building constraints. An upstairs leak had resulted in a false ceiling that dulled the space below, hiding original features and blocking light. We removed the rear conservatory and extended the house to create a spacious kitchen, snug and dining area. The false ceiling was taken out, and new windows and skylights now fill the home with natural light. Upstairs, we reconfigured the bathroom layout to add a master ensuite. The result is a bright, elegant home that honours its Victorian roots.
