The project involved the extension and comprehensive refurbishment of a Victorian property within the Central Fulham Conservation Area. A side return and partial rear extension created a generous kitchen, dining and living space with a stronger connection to the garden, while a roof extension provided additional second-floor accommodation. The design retained and reinstated the defining qualities of the original house, including the proportions and hierarchy of its principal rooms, while introducing a more contemporary rear treatment. Improved natural daylight, clearer spatial relationships and a considered sequence of distinct yet connected spaces created a flexible family home balancing Victorian character with modern living.
