Kao Data is a specialist developer-operator of high-performance data centres. Its 'London' data campus located in Harlow is a development of four, Tier-3, data centres, providing 8.8MW of capacity individually. The overall masterplan will deliver 35.2 MW underpinning infrastructure in the UK Innovation Corridor. MCa were brought in by the main contractor on KLON-01 for their experience of data centre delivery and were subsequently entrusted by Kao Data to work on the KLON-02 scheme from inception to its completion in 2023. MCa have also co-ordinated the design of the wider masterplan which includes KLON-03, KLON-04 and ancillary buildings. Together with the wider design team, MCa are currently delivering KLON-03 which started on site in January 2024. We have implemented the masterplan, faithfully following the client’s brand guidelines. The architecture reflects the client’s sustainability ambitions ensuring that the development is BREEAM ‘Excellent certified'.
