Retrofit project for a multi-generational residential home with a granny annex. The project was designed to be sustainable and eco-friendly, incorporating natural materials, high levels of insulation, and natural ventilation. The key brief of the design was to reconnect the property with the surrounding landscape, creating a healthy and harmonious living environment. The project involved the integration of a ground air source heat pump to provide heating and hot water throughout the home, as well as largely timber structure which minimises environmental impact. The landscaping of the property was also a key element of the project, with careful consideration given to the surrounding flora and fauna. In addition to its aesthetic and environmental benefits, Longton Avenue was designed with multi-generational living in mind. The granny annex provides a separate and self-contained living space, while still allowing closeness between family members.
