Refurbishment of a post-war detached property, located in Hayes, London, to create a flexible and fun family home. Already a large house, the design aimed to make the most of the existing footprint rather than extend the property outwards at ground level. We introduced a wrap around timber canopy to blend the inside and outside spaces, whilst reducing overheating and solar glare. A large polished concrete column props up the building above and allows the glazed corner to slide away.
