This new ‘estate village’ is situated in the former gardens and parkland of a Grade II* listed country mansion. The site was formerly used as a training centre and the early C19 listed house had suffered major damage and been overshadowed by new buildings. Planning and listed building consents established a master plan for development to support the restoration of the heritage assets. Eighty-two new houses, conversion of the former stables, and restoration of the mansion to a single dwelling are being undertaken in a phased development. The housing layout has been woven in to the remnants of the paths, and formal gardens. Two new entrance lodges have been designed along the drive to replace those previously lost.
