Greenbelt planning guidelines are challenging. We combined permitted development and household planning submissions to optimise the property to suit the client’s requirements. We were able to double the floor area and create a 6-bedroom family home from the original 1954 Bungalow and make the home and bathrooms wheelchair friendly.. The works included a rear and roof extension, side and rear dormer windows, solar panels, air conditioning, CCTV, automated drive gates, electric vehicle charging points, new windows, new roof, conversion of the garage to an ensuite bedroom. Two separate outbuildings: a 4.6 x 3.3 m brick and glass sun house and a 7.5 x 3 m log cabin for exercise and table tennis. The house was refurbished and reconfigured into a 6-bedroom, 3-bathroom, WC washroom, family home tailored to the client’s family. A master bedroom suite with two dressings rooms, a utility room and a study bedroom were created on the first floor. These maximised the views out over the fields of the green belt at the rear of the property. The roof light over the stairs flooded the hall below with light. We provide full architectural, interior design, landscape and project management services from feasibility, planning, building control, tender, contract administration, cost advice, and party wall advice.
