A 5-storey house in the Blackheath Conservation Area on the Cator Estate that had been converted into flats was reconfigured and refurbished into a family home. The reconfigured layout created: 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2 WC cloak rooms, new kitchen dinner, 2 studies, 3 reception rooms, entertainment room, cinema room and utility room. We provide full architectural, interior design and project management services including planning, Cator Estate approval, building control, tender information, contact information, contract administration, cost monitoring. The selection of structural engineer and contractors. The client led the interior design and selected bespoke fitted furniture and kitchen; we assisted. We introduced a central hall stair and landing that linked all levels with a dramatic sky lantern overhead which provided a focus and light. The Victorian basement was converted into a lower ground floor by introducing a set of glass doors opening up onto a new sunken terrace with steps up into the garden. The upper turret study room had windows added to its sides to benefit from the dramatic views.
