An ancillary building providing an artist & leisure studio separate to a main existing host property. The stand alone building is carved out from the existing dense landscape to form a bright and airy studio workspace within the confines of an isolated private setting. Offering volumes of spaces at ground, lower and mezzanine levels, with a sense of light & space defining work and leisure areas. The lower level space incorporates glazing which looks onto an unconsciously formed private courtyard situated between the existing house and the studio space, the external level just below eye level. Within a small isolated green site, the design balances light, privacy and programme of connecting spaces.
