Central to the design is a new roof structure, complete with elegant dormers, that highlights the original detailed brick façade. The project’s success hinged on close collaboration with the local conservation team, earning near-unanimous planning approval. Every detail, from full-height openings that harmonise old and new to bespoke joinery, including a refined staircase, reflects Mailen Design’s commitment to craftsmanship and contextual sensitivity.
