New Build
Mæ’s new residential development in Church End is situated in the centre of one of the London Borough of Brent’s growth areas. The local centre has been in decline, suffering from lack of investment and a degraded public realm. The brief was to develop a residential scheme and enterprise centre that will be at the heart of the Church End redevelopment, raising the public profile of the area. Located on an existing car-park and adjacent to a popular market, the project consists of 34 new homes and over 200 sq.m of active enterprise space and community facilities. As part of the proposal, the market will be transformed into a shopping area that will give a central focus for the Church End community and provide additional employment. Linking two main roads, the new market square will be coherently designed and encourage traffic to other areas. The residential units will be built to current design standards and Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4. It will dramatically improve the the residents outside space with a central courtyard.
