E.ON UK Limited required a Centre of Excellence for its credit management operations in the UK. The brief was to design a high quality iconic building that would bring a positive contribution to its environment economically and aesthetically. Trinity House is situated on a prominent corner adjacent the Grade II Listed Guildhall located in a regenerated area of the city centre and now Nottingham’s new business quarter. The building is a modern and vibrant working space that is efficient in terms of its occupancy density and also flexible in terms of the layout and design. It really benefits from the full height glazing and central atrium that afford high levels of natural light. The building provides 105,000 sqft of grade A offices over eight floors in a mix of cellular and open plan styles. There are numerous formal meeting rooms and informal meeting spaces and a number of training suites. Staff have use of a large café with outside terrace and the working spaces also include breakout areas where staff can move away from their desk and enjoy a short break, a drink and great views across the city. The amenities in the building are varied and include a first aid and occupational health room, multi-faith room and a private room for the use of nursing mothers or staff with special needs. A total of 22 individual showers are provided, including a disabled facility, together with male and female drying rooms and personal lockers for each employee. With two levels of undergound parking the basement also allows for cycle bays, a number of disabled parking spaces and even a guide dog area. The building also has Secure by Design certification. Sustainable design principles, energy efficiency and green technologies have been incorporated to achieve a building with a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating and an EPC rating of ‘A’.
