New Build
New Secondary School for the Governors of St Mary’s High School, Cheshunt, St Albans Diocesan Education Department, Hertfordshire County Council and the DFE VA Grants Team. LGH Ltd were initially appointed by St Albans Diocese to undertake a Strategic Development Plan with a view to a bid to the VA Grants Board for the replacement of the existing school. LGH Ltd produced a bid made in September 2001 which was approved early in 2002. LGH Ltd undertook curriculum analysis and developed the brief with the School. Incorporated into the design concept was the requirement for two phases of the construction. Initially the School would have an entry of 6FE to subsequently be expanded to provide for an entry of 8FE across the School plus Sixth Form. The new school opened in April 2010 and work is currently underway developing the proposals for the remaining works to increase the size of the school and lift intake from 6FE to 8 FE. LGH submitted a planning application in December 2012 to expand the school. The 2nd phase is subject to the success of an Academies Capital Maintenance Grant for which LGH prepared the bid and which is due for announcement in April 2013.
