A successful PfS Capital bid submission carried out by LGH Architects on behalf of the school secured one of the largest Academy Grant approvals for Emergency Capital Funding in 2011. The new building accommodates 6 Modern Language Teaching classroom and 2 new Art classrooms over two floors. The Art classrooms benefit from inclined ceilings with large rooflights to provide excellent north lit teaching spaces. Due to time constraints imposed on the expenditure of the PfS funding the project was procured on Design & Build basis with the final building remaining faithful to the LGH initial design Proposals. The building incorporated a SIPS construction to outer walls and roof make with timber stud partitioning to internal walls. The building took 8 months to construct and was open to pupils for the start of the Autumn term in September 2012.
