New Build
Phase 1 - Appointed by O&H Hampton Ltd, developers of the new Southern Township, LGH Ltd were chosen after a careful and rigorous selection process involving Peterborough City Council, and the LEA who would manage the New College. This new college was designed in response to a brief for a new secondary school in Hampton, Peterborough. The project was funded from a section 106 Agreement between the developer and PCC. The new college design is based around a secure central courtyard from which facilities radiate. The building utilises the existing ‘green field’ site levels to assist in scaling some of the larger building elements which sit down on the lower site levels from the central plateau courtyard. A mix of both traditional and contemporary materials and forms have been used to provide an inspiring backdrop to the learning environment. LGH Ltd developed the brief for the School with the LEA and incorporated into the design concept the requirement for two phase construction. Initially the School has an entry of 4 FE to subsequently be expanded to provide for an entry of 7FE across the School plus Sixth Form . We were appointed on the basis of a full service in accordance with the RIBA key work stages from inception through to completion. Construction Value £14.2 million Phase 2 - The £8 Million Phase 2 works completed in December 2012. The Phase 2 works have seemlessly expanded the school in accordance with the original concept designs.
