lovelockmitchell designed the contemporary extension to this Grade II Listed Building and refurbishment of the whole lower ground floor. The scheme included a stunning kitchen/breakfast room which was designed to maximise views over the River and was the result of detailed negotiation with Planning and Conservation Departments within the Local Authority. The extension retained the existing lines of the kitchen, garage-top patio and garden access stairs, with the addition of a structural glass facade, with zinc standing seam low profile roof. New access to the lower ground floor was provided from the kitchen/breakfast room with a feature staircase winding around the full height feature element of glazing. A new external seating area, overlooking the terraced gardens and accessed from the lower ground floor, was also included Lovelockmitchell are especially pleased to have been recognised by the Chester Civic Trust (New Year Honours) for their work on Trafford House.
