High specification new build replacement house for private client. The property replaced a small chalet bungalow on a site which benefited from fields to the rear and woodland screening to the side. The site extends substantially to the rear and totals over two acres. The design for the 6000sqft property had to have generous living areas, five bedrooms and a large basement with a secondary external access. The room sizes were maximised by minimising on corridors, whilst using certain areas as versatile spaces. A double-sided wood burning stove and chimney served to provide secondary heat to two main room areas. Natural rustic slate and black cedar boarding was used selectively on the walls both internally and externally, with a natural slate roof and through coloured render system. The project was constructed and completed to a very high standard.
