Existing thatched cottage set within rural area near Wimborne, Dorset. We carried out the design for a new timber-framed rear extension to form an open plan kitchen dining area, linked to the living room. A new thatched front porch was designed to enhance and complement the house and provide an entrance shelter. To improve the existing hall which had a low ceiling, the first floor was removed to create a double height space with a galleried landing. A new double-sided feature chimney with a woodburning stove was constructed within the new hall area. The rest of the property was completely refurbished.
