We obtained Planning Approval for this Paragraph 79 house in October 2016, gaining unanimous support from the Planning Committee, for whom this was the first Para 79 house they had evaluated. Describing the designs as 'beautiful', the Committee praised the landscape-led design approach, which we took through two external Design Reviews. The dwelling has three main elements, progressing across the site from a familiar field barn form, through the central circulation element, to the living accommodation which is hunkered into the sloping site. The designs take full advantage of the views over the reservoir and hills beyond, and use local materials and simple construction techniques to anchor the designs firmly into the local vernacular.
