Access from the main house to the recently-constructed pool house was via a small link. Initially the Planners were resistant to a longer link, which would have allowed better access under cover; they were concerned about how visually intrusive the link itself would be, sitting between two distinct building elements. Working closely with the Planners, we demonstrated that, using careful detailing and a high-quality installation, the link would feel seamless. Upon completion, the Planners took photographs, asking to use the project as an exemplar for other listed building projects in the district.
