Conversion of former film production and photographers studios within a London terrace to create a new gallery and artists studios spaces. The design creates a new shop front with a new void at ground floor level increasing visibility of both basement and ground floor gallery spaces to the street. A new roof light over the existing internal stairwell brings natural light into the middle of the plan. To the rear at ground floor level a new top lit studio space provides accommodation for visiting artists adjacent to enhanced office and administration spaces. At basement level the gallery space opens onto an external courtyard at the rear. Finishes are deliberately kept neutral to enhance the presence of the artworks.
