About the practice

Living Space Architects are an award-winning practice based in Devon and specialise in the alteration and adaption of existing and historic buildings. The projects we work on include Listed Buildings, barn changes of use and extensions. Our designs often include contemporary interventions or alterations in contrast to the historic fabric of the existing, updating the buildings to draw in light, improve the flow of space and connect with the surroundings. We have a particular expertise in updating buildings to help our clients save energy with the integration of sustainable technologies. We enjoy updating and adapting buildings to contemporary use and also specialise in adapting buildings for to make them more accessible to all. Alongside this we also work with individual clients to create new homes in the beautiful south west landscape, where we have had much success working within the National Parks and Conservation Areas. Our projects are all individual and bespoke, responding to our client's brief and the surroundings in which they sit. Our larger projects include working with community groups and churches, where we work both on new builds and alterations of existing buildings.
