All Saints Church on Putney Common lies in the Diocese of Southwark. The church was designed by George Street and completed in 1874. Windows in the church were designed by Burne Jones and executed by William Morris. The building is listed Grade 2*. The project brief was to expand the facilities available at the church to cater for a growing congregation, to update existing service provision within the building and to provide security systems. English Heritage were fully involved in the project which was completed with some financial assistance from: The Heritage Lottery Fund. The Miles Trust. Wandsworth Borough Council. Work that was undertaken included: The cleaning and restoration of the hand painted ceilings in nave and chancel. Internal decorative brickwork repairs. The formation of a new vestry in a side chapel area by the introduction of new glazed and wrought iron screens. The creation of new toilets including facilities for the disabled. The refurbishment of two old vestry areas to create meeting/Sunday school rooms. The addition of new fitted furniture including a self contained refreshment centre. The rewiring of the building. The introduction of additional new lighting within the building. The introduction of a sound system within the building. The introduction of alarm systems within the building.
