Betel UK is a Christian charity supporting individuals and families affected by addiction and homelessness. To better serve its UK centres, it purchased and transformed a 4,500m² industrial unit in Aston, Birmingham into its national headquarters and community hub. The remodelled building includes a 1,000-seat auditorium, theatres, meeting rooms, café-restaurant, teaching kitchen, soft-play area, beauty salon, offices, break out rooms and creative spaces. Though much of the original structure was retained, it was completely clad and re-insulated. New mezzanine floors, roof coverings and electrical and mechanical installations make the building almost unrecognisable. The building is an amazing community and church facility and headquarters for Betel UK. A remarkable project for a remarkable client.
