New Build
Following an announcement by the existing Headmaster to retire after some 25 plus years at the school. The PTA have come together to develop a vision the Headmaster had for the land adjacent the school gates. This idea involves the construction of a new school shelter for parents and a covered cycle shed for the pupils. As we have an affiliation with the school we have turned our attention to developing a scheme which not only meets the vision of the retiring Headmaster and the PTA, but also one which will inspire the pupils and teachers alike for many years to come. The concept design relates to an organic form, which meanders down the existing school path towards the main Building. The curving structure is reminiscent of a cycle chain with respective cogs and will encapsulates both parent and cycle shelters. The design also takes on board the locality of the large existing oak tree and existing concrete slab adjacent the main Entrance (current bike area). In this instance, locating our covered design on the existing slab should minimise impact on the site and safeguard the tree?s continued existence. In all, we hope the proposed scheme will become an interesting feature and stands as testament to a man who has inspired many school children in the village.
